This was an impulse borrow from my library as an audiobook. The writing didn't blow me away but it was an entertaining read and the narration made it more enjoyable. There were a few graphic sex scenes which I felt awkward listening to on the bus but there was also a lot of insightful commentary on sexuality and gender. Jenek's tone is both funny and informative and it was an interesting inside look at Drag Race and the entertainment industry in general.

A beautiful and somber account of growing up queer in Australia. It made me realise that growing up queer is in fact a form of trauma that as adults we have to unpick. Loved this book. Thank you Courtney and thank you Shane for writing this!

Jenek does a fantastic job of not only telling his story in a fun (and sometimes spicy) way but also taking time to teach the reader a few things. Loved it.
