Their just isn’t any words to express how I feel about this book. This is a first read for this author and all I can say is that this book was written with emotion and love that is told as a fairy tale that all women should have. Their is chemistry that sparks and have you turning the heat down. What amazing read. I’ll be reading this series.

The record still stands with AK Landow’s books. 5 books, all finished within 24 hours – no matter what is going on in my life. I don’t know what it is about her writing but when I step into her stories, everything around me stops. I have to know what happens next! Her books take on a life of their own, so much energy, so much excitement, and I never miss an opportunity to hang with “the Brady Bunch”. This time around, we focused on the matriarch of the family – the one we have watched on the sidelines. Finally, we get to know who Melissa Knight is and what she is made of.

Three beautiful sons, two daughters in laws, grandchildren, and a loving ex-husband that kept his promise, giving her a life where she would never need or want. What else could a person possibly want? LOVE, that’s what! Melissa has watched Jackson fall in love with Darian and be someone she never saw in her own marriage. Make no mistake, she doesn’t blame Jackson for what their marriage had become. She was never in love with him but pregnant at the age of 19, they did what they thought was best for their unborn child. She has also watched that child and her twins grow up into gorgeous men – inside and out, and find the loves of their lives. She just wanted her turn. When would she find that breathtaking, heart-stopping, life changing love that she sees all around her! Date after fixed up date, internet date after failed meet-up, Melissa has all but given up hope until one brief escape leads her to an encounter that would change everything she has ever known about herself. One hundred and eighteen first dates, that’s how long it took before Melissa could finally begin writing her epic love story.

For four books, we have learned bits and pieces about Melissa, it was so interesting to be inside her head. As the reader, you imagine she is everything Darian is not which is why things didn’t work out with Jackson...

Now, her type – that was a shocker! Declan was…wow! I am with Melissa, I normally can’t tolerate the alpha male type but somehow Declan weirdly balanced the alpha male and super nice guy roles. He really was an unpredictable enigma which kept you laser focus on his antics and what else he had up his sleeve.

As for the spice in this book, come on – it’s an AK Landow book – of course it was hot! Declan’s take charge attitude and constantly pushing Melissa’s boundaries is what made it even hotter. I honestly can’t pick a favorite scene this time because they were all simply perfection.

Back to the characters, Declan was constantly haunted by the demons of his past. The inward look at the pain he carried and how he defined himself was eye-opening. This is the first time I have read anything that dealt with drug addiction and the fact that he was insistent on saying he “is an addict” not “was” and why it was phrased that way was something to notate.

It is rare for an author to be five books deep and each one is better than the last. AK not only accomplished that feat but has an entire spin-off series that continues to highlight just how talented she is! I cannot gush over this author enough! Her books are absolutely incredible in every way and I plan on reading each and every one of them.

If I was in the middle of the Sahara desert this book would be the tall glass of water I need to survive. Everything about this book was amazing. The story, the twists, the spice, the emotions. EVERYTHING. I now have to have every book in this series because I have a huge case of FOMO when it comes to the other stories. I love every bit of it and need to clear my ARC reading deck so I can read it again!

I enjoyed this book so much I devoured it in a day. Getting to know Melissa made so many things make more sense. She's never been in love and thinks she'll never experience that storybook love. I related so much to that, I love when I can personally connect to a book.

Her love interest (won't name names, you'll just have to read the book

Just when I think I have a favorite book and favorite couple in this series- A K Landow goes and makes me fall in mad love with another book & another couple!!

This story was filled with love, passion, the perfect amount of spice, fun banter, a wonderful reuniting, a touch of tears, and meeting a few new people
To the series.

The story of Declan (MMC) was so raw and emotional- but the story comes full circle and it had me in tears in the end.

However the way that Declan and Melissa’s story came about was nothing short of fun, funny and very matter of fact.  I loved how blunt and to the point Dec was. I love that he wore his heart and emotions on his sleeve and you never had to guess what he was thinking or feeling.

I was obsessed with the way Melissa (FMC) cares for Declan and had no judgement one time with him.  She was the epitome of an amazing girlfriend and friend to Dec. I also really enjoyed how she was so hot with him! He helped her to find new things out about herself that she never knew she was missing. He helped her to be a freak in the sheets even though she was the best dressed woman in the town.

And throwing Jade into the story was a great twist!

Also when Melis finally takes Declan to
Meet the big happy crazy Brady bunch of a family… the way that Darian and Dec immediately had this crazy reaction of happiness and shock… had me in tears but it was so heartfelt, emotional and loving.

I’ve got to stop because I can talk about this allllll day long- but the letter Scott wrote to his bro & ultimately helped to save him was one of my absolute fav letters out of the series, just for this reason.

Okay, okay, one more thing-
Cassandra and Melissa’s relationship is so funny!!! The sarcasm and banter between them is fantastic and I love that Melissa learns to lean on cass for relationship advice! It’s great.

Another knock out of the ballpark for AK Landow and her City of Sisterly Love series! Seriously cannot sing enough praises as to how much I love this world. Melissa I had always seen as the ex-wife with a touch of jealousy, it was great to get a book from her perspective and realize that it wasn’t jealousy for Jackson’s new wife really. And per the norm Scott made me cry yet again with a letter!!! If you have read a book in this world you have to!!!

▪️About this book:
-MF
-Second chance romance
-Alpha/ Possessive H
-Twists and turns
-Romantic comedy
-HEA
▪️Series: City of Sisterly Love (Book 5), I highly recommend to read the whole series before reading this book to further understand all the characters completely.
▪️Thoughts: I don't even know where to start. Melissa was a very complicated character I didn't particularly have an opinion about her because we haven't really seen much of her before and honestly we didn't know her all that well. About Last Knight clearly made us fall in love with Melissa and root for her well deserved HEA.
Everyone deserves to fall in love at least once in their life and live in love for as long as possible. This book brought so much emotion
