Really appreciated the open attitude toward the topic of rape, but all-in-all not that exciting of a read.

A fun fresh wholesome LGBT romance that simultaneously addresses toxic masculinity and assault. Love

The only reason I gave this book three stars instead of two is because the last 20% of the book was pretty cute. Other than that, Jordan drove me crazy pretty much 90% of the time

Oooh this book is exactly what I needed right now. It’s the perfect summery, romance-y book with two Very sweet boys who fall for each other when they end up trying to run a food truck. Each of them are burdened with something that we get to see worked on as their relationship progresses. It touches on sexual assault and rape, loss of parents, casual homophobia and stereotypes, insecurity, and also friendship and love. I really enjoyed that this was the most typical YA contemporary I’ve read for a gay couple, in which coming out isn’t the central point of the plot. While I believe such books are Imperative in the genre, it also is refreshing to be able to read about a gay romance where both characters are out for the most part, and instead are working on other aspects of themselves in order to overcome their burdens. I loved how dry the characters were to each other and just how realistic the friendships were - as well as pointing out the harm of having purely sarcastic or roast-y friendships. Such a stand-out book in both queer and YA contemporary genres!

This book needs trigger warning for rape, addiction, and homelessness. While overall it was a good story, I was not prepared for the things that happened during the story.

This book was very sweet and sad. I really loved the character of Max and it is very powerful to read about what happened to him and how he talked about it to his friends and family. Very inspiring. I cried a lot.
