I liked the Silent Assassins much more than Calaena's guild. Initially, I also found Ansal delightful, but I stopped trusting her when she left Celaena on her own to shop while she spoke to whoever she was there to see. I'm annoyed that Celaena's beating was described (see above review), and felt the descriptions overran again. Celeana did the right thing by letting Ansal go, but that girl needs the fantasy equivalent of therapy!

EU AMEI MUITO ESSE LIVRO! O plot perfeito com twist surpreendente, a backstory das habilidades dela/treinamento, Sam e arobynn, saber mais sobre o continente :’) adorei a leitura e achei que esse foi particularmente mais poético do que os outros!! Algumas frases foram bem clichês mas amei vários parágrafos, aqui vão alguns dos meus favoritos:

“If you can learn to endure pain, you can survive anything. Some people learn to embrace it—to love it. Some endure it through drowning it in sorrow, or by making themselves forget. Others turn it into anger. But Ansel let her pain become hate, and let it consume her until she became something else entirely—a person I don’t think she ever wished to be”

“As the memory of that day echoed through her, she remembered the words Sam kept screaming at Arobynn, as the King of the Assassins beat her, the words that she'd somehow forgotten in the fog of pain: I'll kill you! Sam had said it like he meant it. He'd bellowed it, again and again and again...”

“She ran when she could and walked when she couldn't, but the sun rose higher and higher, toward that dangerous noontime peak. Up one hill, down the other. One foot in front of the next. Bright flashes flitted across her vision, and her head pounded.

This "novella" broke my heart. I really really loved this whole entire story, and I seriously wish that the Silent Assassins would show up in the main novels. I just loved them, and I really loved the Master. He is everything that Arobynn is not, and everything Celaena deserved. Imagine how she would have turned out if she had been half dead on HIS doorstep. She'd be a better person I think. Loved it, and I loved the twist with Ansel. Poor Ansel, I can't help but feel sorry for her.
