I enjoyed this book, but it was the least interesting of the three. The R2 Situation came to a conclusion and I found that integrating quite well done and satisfactory. However, as with the NJO Series this war ended rather suddenly in an anti-climatic fashion.

This whole series was a sad disappointment. I only bothered finishing it out of a sense of completeness. I didn't care, I didn't want to know what happened.

The main issue is that it's so disjointed. I kept turning back to see what I'd missed, how characters were so deeply entrenched in opposing camps but I hadn't turned over three pages or missed a whole chapter, it was just poorly written.

A real shame.

Decided to revisit this series, which I nerdily loved in high school since I found them at a used sale for $1 each. I found the Dark Nest trilogy brutally boring, though, and very drawn out. I might still try the Legacy of the Force books... but if it continues in this vein, I likely won't finish them.

It was definitely the best of the three books. But it left out a lot of detail and skipped around which left me confused every time I started a new chapter. They tried to summarize events that happened in between chapters instead of actually writing a chapter about it. But it was a solid book despite its rushed nature.

Best of the three. I like how R2D2's memories served as part of the storyline.

Han and Leia were great. Jacen annoyed me. I still hate bugs.

A solid ending, but this series could've been a full book shorter. My god did it ever drag on. I had to skip past the Jaina ground battle scenes. They were utterly pointless and awful. The trilogy is pretty skippable over all. Only the Luke and Jacen stuff made it worthwhile. Leia becoming a proper Jedi Knight was really nice as well.

This had some good stuff in it: Jedi schism, anything Jacen was doing, Leia's Jedi training, etc. Still neither this book not the trilogy as a whole ever grabbed me. It was overly long and ultimately fell flat.

I can only feel relief that this trilogy is over. What a mess. It has pretty good ideas, but they are overrun by bad characterization, ridiculous dialogue, and bad references to Episode III. I honestly struggled more to read these 3 books than the 19 books of the New Jedi Order...that's gotta mean something.
