If you are putting this series off, this is your sign to pick it up.

I had put this series off for so long because I was worried that I would have trouble connecting with high school students.

Well for that I feel absolutely stupid because this series is going to break my heart and steal my soul and I will say thank you at the end of it.

I am beyond obsessed, I am up until 2am reading and I absolutely love it.

This series is so heartbreaking and I feel so deeply for all the characters.

I have a particular soft spot for Joey, I just know his story will break me 😭😭 the way this beautiful man goes to war for his family but mainly his sister, everyday tears me apart.

Shannons story is equally heartbreaking as is Johnny's, they are both extremely strong individuals, for two very different reasons, in two very different situations, but the pure will and determination they both share makes me love them so so much.

This series will be one of my all time favorites, I can feel it in my bones!!

And if you are wondering, how can the books be so big? I say to that.. they are not big enough!!

This one was SUCH a surprise. It took me a minute to get invested, but once I was, I couldn’t stop. These characters are so vivid and were written in a way where I felt I could pull them from the page itself. The writing wasn’t overly complicated or descriptive — but it also didn’t need to be? This was story telling at its finest and I cannot wait to immediately jump into book 2.

And Gibsie. I need a Gibsie book pronto.

Characters were frustrating, but I also don’t look for agreeable, predictable ones. My favorite characters ARE the ones that frustrate me, but also have an invigorating story to tell.

Highly recommend if you enjoy sports romances, slow burn, and a whole bunch of angst. Definitely check TW’s.

Wow 😳 this book … THIS BOOK!! I raced through this like a maniac , carried it around the house , stayed up late and fully consumed and obsessed with Shannon and Johnny 🥲my heart shattered to a million pieces reading everything Shannon went through past and present , every scene with her dad I think I held my breathe waiting for her blows to come. Utterly heartbreaking. But there’s Johnny in the background like her saviour and life jacket. The fact he pushed his own dreams to one side for her meant everything she never had had before. Fully obsessed , immediately picking up book 2 and praying these two get their happy ever after 🥲🩷🩷🩷

well i finished it in three days. i wasnt able to stop reading it. i could be sleepy or hungry or my eyes hurt from the screen but i just couldnt stol reading it.
very addictive

johny and gibsie are too fucking funny and there friendship is fascinating. to be that close to someone and to understand each other so deply is amazing to me. that kind of friendship and trust...
also claire and lizzie are really good and kind friends.
claire and gibsie are really cute together i hope they have or will have their own books.
i only wish shannon was portrayed like a little bit of a stronger character. she was constantly described as weak and small and in need of help.. of course she was small and bullied but she could have build up the courage with time i guess.

best scene by far was johny in the hospital being high after surgery.... pure gold
