I felt like there was a lack of… something in this book. possibly emotion, even though the writer tried hard to portray sadness, anger and confusion, it didn’t come off that way when we saw sadness through the perception of other characters. However, the ending of this book was great. It added a much needed emotional strain and beautifully encapsulated the need Romeo and Juliet have for each other, which is the central idea throughout the book. Having a couple of chapters break up the book to backwardsly show their relationship, as pieces come into view was a good way of describing their time together. Although, since two characters were madly in love, the audience didn’t get to see much depth, but perhaps that was the point, to show that sudden and extreme love can be unsure and without much knowledge or understanding to drive their relationship, but this is seen in the original Romeo and Juliet story which is clever.
