3 Act of Mercy Stars

Hmm, I don’t really know how I feel. I loved Duke and his team. Their back and forth is what made the book for me. They are total guys ribbing back and forth. I like banter 100% of the time.

Mercy is a character I am not sure I like all the way, I think I need more time for her to grow on me. For this reason, I wished the book had been longer so we could really get a sense of who she is because I feel like we are missing out on a really great character.

Loved the narration. Mason Lloyd is yum. I can’t explain his voice better than that. ;)

*You don't have to like my review but its 100% my opinion, and I am allowed to have it.*

I don't normally read paranormal romance/shifter style books but I recently found this author on TikTok and I was intrigued by her books. I definitely enjoyed this book and I'm glad I picked it up. The story was interesting and held my attention, there were some intense moments that kept me on the edge of my seat. I really enjoyed Duke and Mercy and I thought they had good chemistry. I am excited to read the rest of the series and see what else this author has written.

I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Mercy and Corbin have no shortage of chemistry. This is an exciting paranormal romance. This has a great pace, after the slow beginning, with humor, and action.

The first book in the series of PSI ops books but ties into the immortal ops - which I love.

Duke is like Roi, a bit grumpy but oh so loveable. He is busy hitting out one fingered reports when he gets a phone call from a sexy but bat shit crazy voice. Little does he know the voice belongs to his mate, who is a Pixie although she is unaware of her lineage or that she can turn bad guys bones to goo. I enjoyed the two main characters and all the other team members and am looking forward to reading their stories.

The reason this book did not get four stars: there were some editing issues in the e-version. Not horrific but enough that I noticed it. Words that were jumbled or didn't make sense. The second reason it didn't get another star is because
Spoilerduring the final battle Duke gets stuck in wolf form and takes his mates virginity on a cold stone cell floor while chained. I dunno, wasn't my thing really

Looking forward to more in the series

Duke Marlow hates EVERYTHING ... seriously. Especially flying, which we learned in Eaden's book. He's working late on reports, since his computer is not working correctly ... he HATES technology :)

He receives a strange call from a woman, speaking in codes ... and thinking she's a wack-job, the phone calls deteriorate rapidly. Turns out, she's his next mission. PSI-Ops isn't sure if she's a good guy or bad, and she works for one of the Corporation's companies.

Mercy is a bio-engineer, and after meeting James (Inara's mentor/former PSI-Ops) ... she realizes something huge and horrible is going on with her company. Duke accidently runs into her in the hallway of her apartment, and the team has to scramble to keep their cover. Even though she saw them lift a car outside of the coffee shop :)

The quickly realize she is trying to save James, and together ... they bust into the joint to rescue him. Downside ... Mercy has to go with them to get the doors open, as she designed the system. Turns out, she's a pretty powerful Fae-type creature, and manages to hold her own.

I adore this team. Stryker may be my very favorite of this entire series so far. He's a Scottish wolf shifter, as well as Duke. Boomer - goth panther shifter, Captain Corbin Jones - lion shifter, and Malik "Tut" - lion shifter (currently on mandatory leave).

If you love alpha men and ditzy (but really smart) women, then you will enjoy this. The storyline and characters are tired and there really isn't anything new. Listened as audiobook with narrator Mason Lloyd.
