Although I haven't finished Clone Wars and don't know exactly what caused Ahsoka to leave the Jedi order and survive Order 66, I was able to follow and enjoy this story well enough.
It begins with Ahsoka hiding out in the outer rim after the rise of the Empire. She is moving from a planet to an even smaller and nondescript moon as the empire starts encroaching ever farther. But even the moon Raada is not safe from the empire's greed. Storm troopers arrive to extract the planet of resources and force the locals to help them do it. Ahsoka must decide between laying low and encouraging the locals to rebel.
We also get some major queer vibes as Ahsoka forms a strong friendship with a local girl named Kaaden who clearly has feelings for her. Ahsoka's feelings are less clear but I do think she liked Kaaden back.
Moderate: Injury/Injury detail, Death, and War

Spoiler
I would also recommend watching Star Wars Rebels before delving into this novel.Ahsoka holds a very special place in my heart and I was ecstatic to have yet another adventure featuring her (this is the main reason I gave 5 stars). I only wish there were more novels where she is the main protagonist.
Spoiler
It was amazing (and heart breaking at times) to get to learn about how she dealt with the events after Order 66 and how she became a member of the Rebellion.Spoiler
