I've really only read two stories so far, the Chicagoland Vampire short and the Jane Yellowrock tie in, but for those two alone, I deem it a five star book. Maybe once I've read the whole book, which I definitely plan to do, I might change my rating. The only complaint I have is that the Chicagoland story was too short. There was barely enough time to see Ms Neill's brilliance during it, or the romance between Luc and Lindsey. It was more about her past, which I appreciate, and about how much they fight. Hopefully they're done with that now though.

The 5 star review is strictly for High stakes by Chloe Neil. I couldn't be happier with Luc and Lindsey's story. Well I could if it had been longer, but it was the perfect short story about my second fav couple in the Chicagoland Vampires series. It was nice getting to know Lindsey more and getting a peak into her past. Plus Luc, *swoon* I can't wait to see more of them in Wild Things :)

There were very few stories in this collection that I enjoyed. The only ones really worth reading were Forked Tongues by Rachel Caine, The Girl With No Name by Chris Marie Green, and High Stakes by Chloe Neill.

I read this book because I really wanted to read Chloe Neil's story about Lindsey and Luc. How their relationship started etc. However what we get was a short look about Lindsey past and not a lot about the relationship I felt as if you had not been reading her books you would be lost.
I liked Kalayna Price story although it was not until the end that I knew how the main characters fit into her story.

Rachel Caine's- Forked Tongue- 5
Quite good beginning to a world. The world is one very bigoted toward witches. Holly and Dave(?) are witches. The guy being a resurrected witch. We don't get the full story there and after the short, I really want to know more. This was really, really good. Of course too short.

Shannon Butcher's Stolen Goods 5
I've been meaning to read some of Shannon K Butcher's Sentinels but just haven't got to them. Ms Butcher is the former wife of Jim Butch of the Dresden Files. I've heard her series is very good. After reading this story, I'll probably move it up on the list as it starts out great and gets better. The two have great chemistry.

Green's The Girl With No Name 4
This was interesting but started out slowly. She has a day's memories and doesn't know who is following her or why she has boots on. She finds out why and takes care of that day. We are left not knowing the story or an idea of the future. Good not great, I wanted more.

Faith Hunter from Yellowrock world- Devil's Left Boot 5
Twin sister witches are hired by their old high school bully to find her mother. This was a really good one though short (these are short). We get a little look into the twins and good magic vs blood magic. Then Jane has to show up when a vamp is involved. And there is a lot of boot craving. I liked that they took on the job even though they pretty much hated their H.S. rival. I'm about 3 books behind the 6.1 where this takes place so probably hit a big time spoiler.

Chloe Neil- High Stakes 4
A Chicagoland story with Lindsey and Luc. We get a bit of Lindsey background. This was kind of a solidification for her and Luc's relationship. This was good but a bit of TSTL moment in there too. No real spoiler here.

I'm going to hang it up for a day here and come back to it later but I have no problem saying this is a 4 star or above compilation, right now it is heading for 5

Pretty sure this is part of The Latter-Day Olympians though it isn't marked yet as such. This was a little slow for me in the beginning though once we get to the nitty gritty, the characters are very interesting paranormals. Not the normal vampire or werewolf here, the most normal was the sun god. I'd be interested in reading more but wasn't my favorite.

Interesting twist on the (great) granddaughter of the fallen angel Lucifer. I think I would have liked it even better if I knew the series and this has made me interested in starting it. My only real issue
Spoiler one moment all her magic is unaccessible to her and then she could reach down for blood magic of Lucifer. This made her a little too uber witch. It might have to do that I don't understand how it works. From the comments, she doesn't know how that part works either and doesn't have much control. Still she seemed to get the control. So she went from no power, to uber power and pow done.
making her too good. Still I loved the characters and the ending.

This was my least favorite of the stories. Maybe if I knew the character from the series but I didn't. It starts out great, with a bit of humor and some great quotes (some her own). Then it kind of meanders here and there and I'm not sure where she is trying to go with it. At the end, you get the answer but during the telling I was quite bored. Lots of telling. The end makes it satisfying but I nearly fast forwarded.

I was a little confused at first because I have read the first two books in the Alex Craft series and couldn't see where this fit. Kept on trying to place the characters. Well, they aren't part of it before book 3 so, those of us who have read 1 or 2 books, will not be able to place them. Once I gave up on relating the story to Alex Craft, I found that I really liked the characters and the short story. Really I liked this better than any of the Alex Craft books I've read so far and would love to read more about these characters. I will probably read book 3 now and see if they show up since they were being sent to investigate Alex. I went back and discovered that I missed that she called it Darque Files series, part of the Alex Craft world when introducing the story. I would definitely read more if she ever truly writes this series. This story follows a MCIB officer, Magic Crimes Investigation Bureau, and her partner on one of their investigations. Both are very interesting and I would like to know more about them. Really one of my favorites of the book.
