I respect Jackie and her journey. I don’t think her story is the universal experience of same-sex attracted Christians, and I would caution against using this as an authoritative work on the complexities of homosexuality and Christianity.

For a ("former") lesbian author, this had such a misogynistic undertone. Very Pick Me girl energy. Also, I started this because I wanted to put my anger towards something, anything. I was angry at first but the more I read, the more I just pitied the author. If you're reading this review and you're a human being, just know there's nothing wrong with being with another person as long as they can give their consent. If you really love God, I assure you He loves you too. Also, there's a lot of other sins that was said in the bible that doesn't even make sense, don't wear clothes with two different fabrics? The bible has been around for a while, you think there weren't things added to manipulate people? People have been horrible probably longer than the bible has been around. Let's not forget priests' shady history. Priests have been using the bible to their advantage, abusing people's fate. What can be said when the people who are supposed to spread His word, the ones who are most sinful? So yeah. It's okay to be queer. If it's not and we really are going to hell, see you there, I guess?

All in all, I liked the writing if only the book was about something else.

On an unrelated note, if you like girls (or just want to be friends or want someone to talk to or whatever), hmu. @urcomfortchar on Twitter.
