Oh, this is just a mess honestly. Not only is the story built on the flimsiest premise I’ve ever encountered, but it’s actually just really boring. Like, really seriously BORING. If you’re someone who can go all in on a sexy toxic trash-bag of an enemies to lovers fanfic (Dramione lovers, looking at you) then I think this published offering just comes across as lukewarm and genuinely same-y. Plus the writing isn’t great (copper hair, big t*ddy blah), characters are annoying and do things which don’t track and the magical system isn’t explained enough for it to satisfy. Characters literally die and I still didn’t feel like the stakes were high… really poor.
It’s not worth it. And I really tried to have fun and give it a good go - DNF’d at 52%.
