This is a very different book from the others as Theo isn't so much kid lawyer-ing as taking up a cause, but I liked how it is a subtle (or, at least I assume it would be subtle if I were 10 years old) attempt to why and how kids should and can care about activist causes.

I did enjoy this book, although it is not as gripping as the others by John Grisham I did enjoy reading it. It was easy to read and an interesting insight to how politics can affect everyone involved and how the smallest of people can be the ones to make the biggest changes.

Would definitely read again.

This Theodore Boone book is quite different from the other three. The state is proposing building a bypass around his town. The good news is that it will clear up traffic congestion in town. The bad news is that it will destroy certain farms and properties. Theo is torn between helping his friends and obeying the grown-ups who tell him to stay out of it. How will he decide on the right thing to do? An interesting look at eminent domain and the environmental impact of government decisions. Recommended for fans of the series. Grades 4-8.

3.5 stars. Best one since the first one. Good storyline, something the kids probably would get behind. The repetitive stuff was subdued and not quite AS bad. Decided to listen to this one to get in a complete 100 books for the last 3 months. :)

I liked this fourth book less than the previous three. The stories are still good, but although the Duffy trial is still up in the air and it feels like it's been just a short time since the mistrial of the first book, the story has moved on to other topics. This one wasn't even a mystery and didn't have much to do with lawyering and the courtroom either. It was about the environment, politics, and animal abuse - the whole tone was different from the other three. Still a good story, but not my favorite of the bunch.
