Acolyte is the first book in The Wildermoor Apocalypse trilogy.

The story flicks between the year 1684 to more present day.

Wildermoor holds a secret that has spanned many centuries and I have to say I enjoyed reading the story that was set in two different time scales.

The parts that are set in 1684 especially made for an extremely dark and creepy read. Through the authors description of the woods and the caves, I could easily visualise for myself the surroundings that some of the characters found them selves in.

Acolyte is essentially a horror book yet the storyline goes deeper than that. The author gives us just enough to whet the readers appetite yet teasing us as there is obviously so much more in store for us in the next two books.

A must read for any horror fans that love a strong storyline along with their scares and thrills.

Many thanks to the author for a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
