I thoroughly enjoyed the characters of this book. They were all very relatable and you understood where each one was coming from. This was a beautiful love story because it happened gradually instead of having them just fall into bed to together and suddenly they're in love. I loved the character of Whitney the most. She's been previously damaged by a bad marriage and you get to follow her journey as she realizes "I'm worthy!" and "I deserve this!" about falling in love again. Ryan, her love interest, is so supportive and there for her through her journey never once pushing her to fast. I wish there were more men in the world like Ryan. It goes without saying, but the love scenes were super-steamy and hot. Definitely what I expect from a Laramie Briscoe book. She tells the most wonderful love stories!

What a way to start reading the work of a new author to me. From the blurb I just got hooked, I like to read about sexy cops and the women that get them on their knees but this book is even more than that.
Whitney is a 35 divorced woman that has her own business and a broken heart after the divorce. All she wants is get her life back on track and keep working on her successful business.
Ryan ''Renegate'' is a hot cop and the youngest member of the team ,although he is 25 he has been through a lot and seen more than anyone but he also is very grounded and knows what he wants in life and since teenager he wanted Whitney and now has the opportunity to have her if only for a night, and what a night really, hot scenes that got me hiding my kindle and he is the boyfriend goal for sure.

After that one night stand ,Whitney founds out she is pregnant but is indecise if she wants him or not as the age gape is an issue among her family and friends but of course Renegate won't allow her to let him out and it's a beautiful story of love with friends to lovers characters and a great writing and banter.

I forgot how much I loved this series so doing a re-read was so good. While this first book wasn't my favorite due to the surprise pregnancy trope it was still a great read.

Whitney is the older sister of Ryan's best friend, and he has always had a thing for Whitney. While it has always been a crush, one he carried while he was away in the military and one he carried when he came back and joined the task force in their hometown.

Whitney was devastated by a marriage that was not healthy and still suffers a lot of trauma trying to trust and move on. While she has too much to drink she pleads with Ryan to give her what she has been missing. Ryan isn't going to let the chance pass her by, but he just has to convince her they are worth more than one night.

When Whitney finds out she is pregnant from their one night she isn't sure what to do, but she wasn't expecting Ryan to overhear the news, while with her brother. She is positive she can raise the child on her own without Ryan, but he isn't ready to let her go or his child.

I loved how patient and understand Ryan was, especially regarding her past trauma. There were times where she was unrealistic with trying to keep the baby all to herself, but I loved that Ryan fought for them.
