This is the second Jim Knighthorse mystery that I've read. Both were thoroughly entertaining.

Not an entirely bad read. This was my first dip into the series and perhaps book 2 wasn't the best place to start. It took me getting through about a third ofthe book before I began enjoying the main character. His brash self-absorbance turned me off at first and I almost gave up on the book altogether. But by the end I did find the good in him and enjoyed the story enough.
Overall the writting and plot seemed rather umripened. The author seems to have the bare bones of a good story teller but is not fully developed. For that reason I am unsure if I will pick up anymore, definitely not older ones. But I wasn't so off put as to keep me from trying their new releases in the future. There is some potential both for this character and the writer.

This is one of those books I'm not sure if I liked or not. I found the book generally a bit irritating, especially Knighthorse, but there was something about it that kept me reading. I think there's possibly a bit too much self-pontificating by Knighthorse for a short(ish) book but I equally know that that is supposed to be his character.

I might read the others in the series to see what they're like.

Jim Knighthorse book2

Less sporty, but still too he-man-y for me. I just do not enjoy weight lifting or push-up speak in my stories. If I can get beyond that I would thoroughly enjoy these books! The mysteries keep me questing, the characters are interesting and there are some laughs along the way.
