Listened to 80% of this on audible and finished the rest on kindle - the audio book is amazing! I really liked the narrator.

Really a 3.5 for me. Enjoyable enough, but ultimately the kind of crime central to the plot just isn’t particularly interesting to me. It felt like more of an adventure-type thriller than a mystery-type thriller. The end leaves open the possibility that maybe future books in the series might lean more towards my preferred type of fictional crime, and since I’ve liked the author’s other series that I’ve read, I imagine I’ll be back for the next in this series too.

I really liked this and would recommend it for anyone looking for a new thriller. I guess I always knew the good guys would win but it was still fun to get there.

String 4.5 stars. Great series premise. I like the different kind of detective. Definitely flawed but with lots of room for more stories. I’d read book 2.

Sloan works for Lauderdale Shores PD in Florida as an evidence recovery diver . One day, she finds an dead body, and a lot of government agencies seem overly interested in it. A solid and fairly entertaining thriller cum procedural that entertained without enthusing me enough to move on to the second in the series. Give it a try!
