I have been in a reading slump for a while and this book was a great way to kickstart my reading habits. However, I didn’t particularly like this book. I found the writing and plot to be a bit too simple for me. I am not the biggest fan of miscommunication which was a definite theme throughout the novel! It wasn’t particularly bad, I just don’t think it’s my taste. I would recommend it to those that enjoy simple writing, grump x sunshine trope and a whole load of miscommunication and a male lead who takes a lil too long by my standards to vocalise what’s happening. The plot is fairly predictable and if you’re someone looking for your potential comfort read, this could be it.

I just love Ali Hazelwood. Maybe it is the nerdy badass heroines, maybe it was the constant witty remarks about Marie Curie and sexism in STEM, maybe it was the touch of Youve Got Mail, maybe it was the dislike of standardized testing and academia, or maybe just the handsome male genius counterpart with unrequited love that was obvious the whole time.

I will say the events of the presentation were predictable when it was first decided, but the reason why didn’t hit me until I was only about a page or two away from the reveal. That was fun!

Lovable main characters and extremely fun secondary characters. Just great!

What a roller-coaster. Definitely a fun read to just get stuck into for a day and finish the story in one go. The plot is super predictable and very cheesy. The characters are classic rom com ones with the same flaws you expect but I always a love a comfy read like that.

The ending was !!!! crazy. Felt like an Indian serial with the most random plot twist that was resolved in 3 seconds and everything else was swept away. Still a cute book, 4 spicy chapters and a cheesy romance to keep my smiling.

Love on the Brain was a heartwarming, geeky enemies-to-lovers romance about two scientists co-leading a NASA project and getting over their hots for each other by aggressively "hating each other" instead. Thing is, Bee and Levi don't exactly have the best history together. He can think of nothing worse than working with her and she hates his smug, entitled attitude. But it turns out that communication is hard, feelings are harder, and sometimes people really suck.

Hazelwood shocked my socks off. I LOVED this book. It was fast-paced, sarcastic, charming, hilarious, and very sexy. I honestly went into this with pretty low expectations because I tend to dislike popular romance books, and I generally don't like romcoms at all, but I really liked this one.

I also learned two crucial truths about myself reading this book:

1. Ali Hazelwood could write the phonebook and I would probably read it, and
2. Sassy, snarky, hilarious female leads with big brain energy might be my new favorite character type.

When I say I LOVED this book, what I actually mean is that Ali Hazelwood is funny as fuck and I bought all of her other books after reading this. I don't care if this book read like a fanfiction trope I've seen and heard a thousand times before. I laughed, I rolled my eyes, and I cursed that traitor out right alongside Bee all the way through the novel.

I was entertained. I LOVED Bee. I LOVED her research assistant Rocío. The drama was *so* satisfying. All of the cat mentions and references made my heart explode with happiness. Bee's relationship with Levi was so. fucking. beautiful. Their relationship progression was *chef's kiss.* Every step of the way, from despising him to reluctantly accepting he might be an okay person, to maybe having a minor crush, okay, definitely having a crush, and slowly falling in love with him page by page, I was 100% there for it.

Love on the Brain was the perfect wholesome romance and a great second book of the year. The only reason it isn't a 5-star read for me is just because some of the plot felt a bit too dramatized for my taste, but honestly that's a personal preference and I think this book was still an amazing experience.

I can't wait to read more books from this author.

I absolutely adore this story/book. I devoured it in a day and I'm sad it had to end. Can't wait for the next book
