I'm really enjoying reading some shorter books after the marathon of IT, and this one certainly didn't disappoint. The only reason it's 4 instead of 5 stars is that I felt like the third act/ending was a bit rushed/felt a bi disconnected from the rest.

** spoiler alert ** 2.5/5 I was quite intrigued and enthralled up until we find out the main character dated another woman in her past. The internalized homophobia really rubbed me the wrong way and ruined it all. If she would’ve been unapologetically gay then it’d be completely fine but I just don’t see the point in making her full of self hatred even up until the very end when she still ends up with a woman but almost describes the interactions as if she’s repulsed by it all. Just like yucky and unnecessary. A powerful queer story would’ve been super cool but I guess this is what we get instead :-(
