Β Had me hooked right from the start and wouldn't let me go. That first part kept me at the edge of my seat. Though there are some bits that belong in a horror movie, there was so much love in it. It was all through the book, the love between pack, friends, family, mates. It was sweet and beautiful. I would have liked a little more focus on the romance.

This baby 😭 my heart broke so many times. For a character that had longed for family, for a place to belong, for so much of his life, to have that taken away from him is just gut wrenching. I love the character work done here, with Robbie, Kelly, and the rest of the pack. The trauma of being betrayed so many times would of course manifest itself, and it just makes everything so much sadder 😭 nothing quite hits like amnesia angst 😭😭😭😭

AND KELLY MY ACE KING 😍😍😍😍 I love love love love how his asexuality is handled through this. So well done. And I was rereading a section of Wolfsong, and I love how the groundwork was laid all along for him being ace; it was subtle but made it feel natural and not like an afterthought or last minute decision.

(m/m, ace mc, werewolves). This book is excellently eerie.
When I started it the first time, I was convinced we’d gone back in the timeline.
Satisfying romantic ending. Excellent set up for the sequel. I love getting more of Chris and Tanner, and I love the pack getting gayer. I’m also pleased with the ace representation.
The kids are appropriately terrifying.
I adore the self-awareness (gayest pack ever, self sacrificing assholes, gratuitous nudity).
