John Green does not miss, and is an author that has followed me from my angsty pre-teen days of reading to my early adulthood. I love his insight and am in awe of the way he blends humour with seriousness.

A lovely, heartfelt collection of essays on everything from staph infection to Mario Kart, John Green takes us inside his somewhat disorganized mind as he struggles to make sense of the human condition. Often funny, frequently moving, if somewhat oddly constructed, these essays are a lovely portrait of what it means to be human, which is somehow not much, and everything there is. I give it four stars.

Absolutely wonderful. It mixes so many things well - laughter with tears, essay with memoir, nostalgia with hope. Most chapters were light enough for before bed, but deep and reflective enough for a close read. It reminded me of how lovely so much of all of this is - something I needed and am grateful for.

My favourite essays include: academic decathlon, Bonneville salt flats and new partners. I thought I didn't like essay books, I was proven very wrong. Thanks for the recommendation Nadine!!!
