As book 2 of a trilogy, I appreciated the delve into character and relationship development, which necessitated the slow pace of the plot. What plot and subplots there were, however, felt like a tangled mess.
For a mystery with hidden identities, whole peoples cursed into secrecy, there is an expectation of confusion and multiple layers of mystery, but this often felt unnecessarily convoluted.
The no-sex spice was 🤌🏼 as was the foodie talk 🤤
