3.5 - liked all of the discussions of the bad guys backgrounds and story better than John Wells' parts. Did not like the cliffhanger, and thought the whole "getting captured" setup was dumb. It seemed like this one and the next book were heavily padded in order to break it out into two books.

Entertaining, but lots of filler.

Don't think this was as good as Berenson's other books. Cannot put my finger on what was "off" - but something was.

Not the best in the series but still entertaining enough on audio. John Wells and his former CIA co-workers are as interesting and fun as ever but the plot never really engaged me. Listened to the audio which was read by George Guidall who gave his usual top notch performance.

A good vacation read though nothing seemed to set it apart from other spy novels except that it seemed part today's news and part fiction.

I have enjoyed the John Wells series up until this novel which was all over the place for me.

I thought the plot was disjointed. The late plot twist appeared to be added for one of two reasons: either Mr. Berenson did not know how to wrap up this novel, or he just wanted to make this book the cliff hanger for Twelve Days (the next book in the series). Whatever the cause, it made a 4+star review a three star review.

Great, thought the ending felt rushed.

Flat. Wouldn't have continued with it I didn't like the characters and story line.

This book started out kind of slow. A lot of character were introduced which can be confusing. But the last third of the book really took off. Looking forward to the next book.
