Why a thrilling and sad tale of the life before. D’Jenn always seemed so leveled headed in Book1 that I read previously to this novella. I can see he grew a lot within this short shorty. I am sad to see this outcome didn’t fair better for most within the novella but I was enthralled completely.

I really liked it. The story was gripping and the world-building and characters interesting. I definitely want to read more about the world.
Spoiler I really liked Merick and felt like what happened to him came out of nowhere, it was a bit disappointing.

This is a great intro into the world of the Seven Signs Series. I wasn't sure what to expect, the cover looked kind of dark. What I found was a novella which read like a hybrid fantasy/thriller. It was both refreshing to read something different and intense due to its dark themes.
There were a few surprising plot twists and right up to the end, I wasn't sure how the plot would play out. D'Jenn is a great character and I would read more of him.
