-I loved this book in the serious i never read the books before this was my first time but I've watched the movie just about a thousand + times and that ending i was not expecting instead of leaving something out of the movie like they normally did they added a crazy ending to the movie that wasn't in the book overall i loved it thought it was such a good story i wish they did a epilogue in this book but they didn’t 🥹 I don’t wanna say to much that might spoil the book so I'm just gonna keep it at that eEdward and Bella and even Jacob have allot of growth in this book more than the other ones overall i rate this book a five star⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️-

This book is definitely a guilty pleasure for me. I enjoy reading it but it is ultimately so deeply problematic that it’s hard to stay in the story. Aside from Meyer’s regular racism involving the Quileutes (quite literally insinuating that POC are animals) and her drastic white-washing of every single vampire character, there were other problems.
Spoiler The way Meyer handles Bella’s pregnancy carries deeply anti-abortion sentiments—with the people trying to prioritize Bella’s life being framed as the antagonists. Additionally, solving the love triangle by making Jacob fall in love with a child?? I know that Meyer tries to pretend like it’s not like that but it’s truly insane in my opinion. And with jacob’s perspective we get a healthy dose of misogyny and just a sprinkle of homophobia, so that’s unfortunate.
