The one star is for the narrator.

I made it 20%, and although on the surface the words were there...they didn't DO anything. No movement forward.

Don't get me wrong. It was interesting to listen to, but it felt like spinning wheels. Which is so disappointing. Because Inlove Ronan and the original trilogy.

What a cliff hanger! Can’t wait to read the next one! I wish there was more about Adam and ronans relationship and just more character building and looking into their emotions. Very plot based

I'm sorry, but I hate it very much. I will be reading the next book because there are things I like about the spin-off and because I can't stand this being the last I read of Ronan when he's being so decidedly not Ronan.
Even in the original series, the story was never really plot-heavy and things didn't make much sense to me but it was fun to read and I liked the characters. But now the characters aren't here. You mean to tell me Ronan purposfully ignores Adam? That he's not even thinking about Blue and Gansey, let alone calling them? You can't write a Ronan-focused story and then leave out Ronan's favourite people.

Again, there are some interesting things and cool new characters and I love the Lynch brothers so I want to finish this, but lord. No.

It makes me very sad to say this, but…This book is kind of bad. Until the very end the only thing that really happens is Bryde endlessly monologuing and I just don’t care. In fact, I hate him. He makes me want to put my head through the wall.

One of the rare instances where I enjoyed the second book in a series far more than the first.

I want to love this series as much as I love The Raven Boys. I love Ronan Lynch and I was really looking forward to a series told completely from his perspective. But this series is letting me down a little. It doesn't have that same magical feel that the original series does. The characters aren't nearly as loveable. The characters that are also in the first series feel different than they did in The Raven Boys, especially Ronan. Plus the magic and world are making less and less sense the more this series goes on.

I still like it and I'm definitely going to read book 3, probably right now. But this definitely isn't going to become an all-time favorite rereadable series for me like The Raven Boys is.
