A New Playlist is a book in which the author challenges the reader to focus on the "song" of Jesus. In this, he is asking that we focus on his words. This, Mr. Armstrong admits, can be a difficult thing.
Of particular interest is the term "playlist". Referencing popular technology, this term is re-purposed to touch on the songs of faith. One of the songs the author touches on is the Sermon on the Mount. He also touches on other popular biblical passages like the 'Good Samaritan' story - stories that use the quoted words of Jesus.
The book is a fairly easy read so he doesn't use theological terms that would scare some readers away. He goes through some of the different periods in his life in different chapters - touching on personal stories about both his youth as well as adulthood. In these stores, he is honest about some of his faults & his anxieties. This is a nice personal touch.
