I could have read Rockton novels until the end of time, but this final installment succeeded in providing a bittersweet yet satisfying ending for an exceptional series. [a:Kelley Armstrong|7581|Kelley Armstrong|https://images.gr-assets.com/authors/1625010968p2/7581.jpg] consistently delivers stories that are effortlessly fascinating and engaging. The plot of this, as well as the other Rockton novels, has enough twists and Aha! moments to keep you on edge, without being overly complicated and convoluted. The writing is as always nearly flawless and the narrative flowed so well I was at the climax of the story before I even know what hit me. I am sad to see the end, but I know there will be more great releases from this author in the future.

At the eleventh hour before Rockton's closing, Eric and Casey have a final case to solve. And as usual, things are never as simple as they seem, with multiple suspects and multiple victims. This was yet another nail-biting addition to this exciting series. And a fitting ending.

After several more murders, Rockton is no more. Such a great series! Intense and well written.

I will say this one is a little over the top and confusing, then felt rushed, but the characters were rushed and there was a timeline that escalated so while the pacing was different it made sense. I love Casey and Dalton -- I do wish we had more Dalton in this book, but it felt like he was always off working on something else since there was so much going on.

A good end to a good series and I'm looking forward to the spin-off!
