CW: murder, kidnapping
This is the conclusion of the Rockton series. We find out if the Council is shutting down Rockton as Casey and Eric presume they are. The story starts off on a briefly calm note with some of the inner circle relaxing and playing a game of D&D. The game is interrupted by a disturbance in the center of town. It turns out that Deputy Anders secret reason for being in town is posted for all to see. This leads Casey on a non-stop investigation to make sure that no other secrets get out. We get to see more of Casey and Eric and their deepening relationship. They discuss how they want to approach things if the Council wants to shut them down and when it will happen. I think this was a strong finish. It was a great page-turner that kept me up way past when I should have gone to bed.
