“But he was risen and he knew it”

One of the most beautifully and realistically fleshed-out protagonists I’ve ever met. The sadness of finishing this book isn’t so much over the experience ending but over how much I will genuinely miss these characters. ❤️

it takes a while to settle into, but after part one i was hooked. we follow our protagonist who commits a murder and has to go through many stages of guilt and emotional turmoil (which is his punishment) at the end of the novel, raskolnikov does redeem himself and personally, it was such a fulfilling experience to see him change for the better from someone who was so out of touch and nihilistic (also, can i just add that i enjoyed porfiry’s monologues so much
