Just no.

This book was a struggle to get through. I was so annoyed from the beginning. I hate when people don’t understand the meaning of the word no.

From the start Landon told Rod he didn’t want to sleep with him, date him or anything romantic. He liked him and only wanted a friendship, yet Rod would not stop.

The whole time Landon was acting like a friend would, just hanging out and talking. I did not get the impression that he was leading Rod on, yet every conversation was Rod saying they should have sex. It was almost uncomfortable how he tried to pressure Landon to have sex with him. Nobody should have to constantly explain why they don’t want to have sex with someone, a simple no should be more than enough.

Rod is supposed to be this funny and quirky guy, yet he was never funny. His jokes consisted of telling everyone how he wanted to fuck them, like once or twice under the right context maybe it could be funny. The problem was that was literally all it came out of his mouth, like there was no other topic. He had no personality, nothing that made you understand why he acted that way because all he ever spoke about or thought about was sex.

Also his friendship with Nick and Bryce felt forced and random. They had one interaction on the last book and all of a sudden they are best friends? Like how? Maybe if he would’ve moved in next door or they would’ve invested in the store. Something to show how the friendships blossomed, nope no explanation of other interactions. Just met once and now they are all besties.

The third act conflicts made perfect sense yet he acted like Landon was in the wrong, when he kept such a huge thing from him. I just truly couldn’t stand him. The only reason this book is not a 1 star is because the situation that Landon was going through was actually kind of interesting.

Im so disappointed since I loved the first book, this one was just a big no for me.

I realized listening to this book that I don’t really enjoy fem guys or twinks. This story was nice though!

Much better, Riley! Here we start with a gay guy and an admittedly bi guy. This book makes more sense than Book 1 as the guys already know they're attracted to guys, so it isn't a surprise when things happen and continue to escalate between them. Nice story with a couple of semi-broken guys who find just what they need with each other!

Not as good as the first. The characters annoyed me a bit, hence it wasn't possible to really get a feel for them or their story. It got better towards the end, but still not really possible to feel their pain.

This one really let me down. After the first book, I had very high expectations for the second one. The Main Characters were sweet and I liked them, but I didn't really feel connected to them. At the end they still seemed like strangers to me. I did enjoy seeing Nick and Bryce again, they were my favourite characters even in Book 2. I didn't like the twist at the end. I know that it was probably necessary for the series to continue. But the whole thing with the family secrets was handled poorly by all Parties involved. At the end I still enjoyed the story and will still read the third one. I can already imagine who one of the MCs will be.
