The only reason this loses half a star from me is because I wish there weren't so many POV switches. I get WHY they were there, but I would have liked to sit with some characters longer.

That said, the arcs? The development? I live. The way the relationships between the characters played out over the duology was amazing. Eris and Cato specifically will probably stay with me for a long time.

I, like Clo, wish that there was some way for Eris to have walked out of that explosion. It absolutely wouldn't have made sense, but I so wanted her to see the freedom she had fought for. Even if she disappeared into the background. Just to let her actually enjoy what she had cast aside everything for. As soon as Damocles said "...it'll be upfront. Same as we were raised." I knew what was coming. He'd never respected the duel rules, but he'd never expected Eris to sacrifice herself. They both have been fighting to survive all their lives, and Eris finally turned the tables because she loved her Devils more than survival. She loved the idea of a free galaxy more than survival.

I did appreciate that despite this age of advanced technology, we're still shown the ravages that war and illness inflict on the body with Sher and Nyx. Sher doesn't immediately recover from his time as a gerulae POW. His body is weak, and he suffers mentally because of what his body did under the Oracle's control. Nyx is recovering months later from a disease that ravaged her body and has to come to terms with the fact that she will probably never be the fighter she once was again.

Overall, I think the characters are excellently portrayed and had great arcs. Even Archon Asshole himself. The conclusion made me unexpectedly emotional, and the story was well thought out and paced pretty well.
