Nothing like a little graphic novel about psychopaths to get you through your day.... actually it was kind of cool!

James and Alyssa are pretty much crazy and disgusting. What's not to like? I loved the drawings, but as far as graphic novels go I really wasn't blown away by anything. More just surprised at what the characters did next. I'm sure I made some interesting faces while I read this one! Another random library pick up. Why I buy books at all when there are thousands to read for free I'll never know.

Honestly, I feel like I can't even review this properly because I've already seen the show--and I love the show. The graphic novel reads quickly and like a rough outline of its television counterpart. A lot of my favorite dialogue and the general plot were pulled directly from the graphic novel, but in terms of tone and detail they felt very different. There was so much nuance and character development in the show that made it truly special that's just not present in the graphic novel. Also I wanted more of an explanation about the aspects of the graphic novel that differed from the show (namely the satanic cult storyline), but these are never fully developed.

Again, this is an unfair review because of inevitable comparisons I was going to make going in. Still think its worth a read for anyone, fans of the show or not.

"Every time I look at him, I see a boy I love and a fucking stranger."

I really enjoyed The End of the Fucking World. It's a very quick read, and the story is quite interesting. It's pretty morbid and violent, so just be aware if you decide to pick this one up. It's a good little fucked up love story.

I liked James and Anna, and I'm very excited to watch the show - I hope there's more info about some of the "bad people" in the story. I would have been totally fine with this being longer.
