A wonderful sequel where we go on more crazy adventures with Kyja and Marcus as they track down the Land Elementals. And there's even that "you've GOT to be kidding me" twist at the end!!

I enjoyed this book more than the first book in the series. It was much more original and unpredictable. I'm looking forward to the next book in the series.

Solid three and a half stars. I am interested to see where this series goes. It had been long enough ago since I read the first book that I had forgotten some of the lore of the series and needed my memory jogged to recall all the details. A synopsis at the beginning would have been nice for those of us who are forgetful. There are a lot of themes that are present in a lot of sci-fi works in this book, but that didn't really bother me, I was just aware of it.

A great second book in this series! The audio book was very well done and I'm enjoying all the adventures the two main characters have through FarWorld. Such imagination! I can see why my kids have loved these books.

I think this book may be better than the first. We get more of a sense of who Marcus and Kyja are as individuals, but we also see them learn to work together. I'm not quiet clear on the idea of land elementals and why they are the way they are, but I still enjoyed the search to find them.

Farworld: Land Keep
By:J. Scott Savage

Summary: Four mythical Elementals Water, Land, Air, and Fire have the power to save two worlds, Earth and Farworld with help form Marcus, a cripple from Earth, and Kyja, from Farworld. They combine their unique gifts and begin their epic quest to find the Elementals. In book two, Land Keep, Marcus and Kyja travel with Cascade, a Water Elemental from book one, Water Kepp, toward Land Keep, the home of the powerful Land Elementals. They find the Land Keep is empty, deserted for at least a thousand years, and the rumor is that the creatures who once controlled all land magic are extinct. Marcus and Kyja's only hope seems to lie in finding the Augur Well, a legendary Oracle protected by subtle traps and mind-bending trials. To succeed in their quest, Marcus and Kyja must also avoid the Keepers of the Balance, an 'order' that redistributes magic to the rich and powerful. They travel far underground, where Cascade is unable to follow and where they will be unable to leap to the safety of Earth. As the Dark Circle closes around them, Marcus and Kyja are faced with the temptation of what they desire most. Sacrifices must be made, and not everyone will survive unscathed.

I really liked how the plot was organized and how the characters had a lot of layers that were interesting. Also, the author did a good job describing things and explaining things. I would recommend it to anyone who like adventure and fantasy

The second in the series finds Marcus and Kyja looking for the land elementals to help them save FarWorld. This book delves more into the feelings of jealousy and inadequacy that the characters have because of their differences. It also shows loyalty and friendship. In their journeys they find people who they can trust and people who betray them. Fast paced action helps the story along and the ever funny Riph Raph makes me laugh. A great series for anyone who likes fantasy and magic.
