Wow, intense and nerve-racking! Non stop action and emotional hits, this book is a real page turner. I was slightly hysterical, slightly stressed out, with heart palpitations and throughly thrilled by this book. I kept reading into the night, because this is one unputdownable book!

The action is never ending, you need to keep on turning pages to know what happens next and I have to confess to a little page skimming, I was so stressed out about knowing. I loved the characters in all their variations.

Bailey is your typical nerd with a genius brain, sometimes too literal, not very well versed in social clues, but very observant. Sometimes her mind goes off into a brain computer daze and it means that she’s analyzing and joining dots into conclusions. With all that, she’s a loving daughter, once she knew her siblings she adored them, and she was a drooling idiot in the presence of Kash.

I loved how the author wrote the storyline between Bailey and her father. I loved their initial silent encounters, her insecurity where he was concerned, his lack of visual contact with her, the subtle hostility from his wife. There was anger and resentment because she felt abandoned and ignored by her father. Poor Bailey was initially stabbed from all sides and there were a couple instances where I cried with her.

I loved how much she loved her siblings and how much they welcomed her. They were very verbal in their acceptance. Matt was a sometimes ally, other times enemy but you could see how in time he grew to respect her and not resent the fact she’s the one who most resembled their father in her eye color, hair color and genius brain.

The fact that there was a menace against her caused a constant thrum of suspense; the emotional turmoil caused by all the family issues caused an edgy sense of awareness that not all may be as it seems; and the sexual fireworks with Kash were dynamite moments of yummy sexy times. Bailey was a strong woman and she managed and endured all that was thrown at her. She repeatedly fought against tears, assuring herself that “Hayes women don’t cry”. And yet, she has a few breakdowns, totally deserved because this new life got really hard sometimes. And in spite of the angst, there are little snippets of humor, very comical and welcome, since they balance the moods.

The action went on in a steady, edgy, hard pace until a plot twist, action climax and spectacular cliffhanger. The danger continues, but this time I think it will be triplified and I can’t wait to read the sequel! When you get to the end, there’s a feeling of, woooo, that was some trip! Totally recommend!

Worth the read

Mixed feelings about this book. Loved the H & h and all the secondary characters. The plot was confusing at best with way too many storylines. Probably not Tijan’s best, but still worth the read.

3.5 rounded up to a 4 for me. I feel like I'm a die hard Tijan fan. Anything she writes I will pick up. Though I still enjoyed this one and loved some elements of it sadly it just didn't totally wow me. I'm still excited to read book two though.

This was so different than what I expected and I loved every minute of reading it. I loved the mystery and suspense. I loved the intense storyline and the passion in the story. I was completed captivated by this world and I am dying to read more from this series and from this author. I will definitely be reading it.

The blurb of this story piqued my interest. However, I found myself struggling with the storyline itself. Not the characters, per se, but the actual plot of the story. There were parts of the story that I really enjoyed and others that had me almost wanting to skim. I am not sure what exactly the disconnect was here. I just kept feeling like I wanted MORE. More something. I know that isn't really much to go on but it is how I felt.

There are a lot of interesting secondary characters and I can see where the author most likely intends to take this series. I am hoping that this first book is just laying the groundwork and is the reason I struggled because without Kash and Bailey and wanting to see what would happen with their relationship is the reason that I kept reading.

I am a huge fan of this author but this was not my favorite book. However, the premise and the characters of this book kept me reading which is a testament to this author's ability to tell a story. I realize that not all books are a hit with readers and that is what I am hoping for as this series continues. It is that reason that I am rounding up to 4 stars because there were elements that I wanted to know more about from this world.

In the middle

I love Tijan, her books are awesome and is always a no brainer for me when it comes to buying her books, but this one … not sure. I didn’t engage right away with the story, I only kept reading because of Kash but outside thar, nothing memorable. I will probably read the next book but it wasn’t a winner for me

I was sucked in quickly and didn't want to put this book down. The fmc's internal struggle and processing the things going on around her kind of annoyed me at times but that's the only negative I have. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and am eager to continue reading the series.

You can imagine that the whole book will be crazy, combined with an intensity that will make your hair stand on end, from the very first pages. It has become this book just like a Netflix series that you start one afternoon and finish in a few hours. Completely devourable.

The Insiders tells the story of a smart girl, full of difficulties in her life, who finally gets her dream life when one moment her life's in danger and the next she is meeting her inspiration. She now has a new identity and has to live under the protection of a technology tycoon and in the care of a handsome young man who can melt you with just one look. While the tycoon's children hover around her.

Bailey has to learn who she can trust and keep Kash from breaking down her barriers to sneak into her being. A 007 style story, with a touch of sauciness, a mystery to solve, a thousand looks to hide from, and the adventure of a lifetime. Bailey must protect herself and her heart.

Every moment is an adrenaline rush that thrills you to such a degree that you can't stop. This is a Tijan trilogy worth knowing. The atmosphere is so dark that every moment the flame sparks to life, it sets the whole place on fire.

Esp
