Did I read this to bolster my GoodReads reading goal? Yes. Did I still really enjoy it, also yes. This was cute, short and sweet. I enjoyed the art style of Jeffrey Brown and some of the dialogue between Luke and Vader just had me hysterical. I loved the part where Vader was trying to speak with his master but was being interrupted.

Excuse me while I've got Star Wars on the brain...

This started out as just a few comics strips imagining what it would have been like if Darth Vader had been around as a father for Luke. Some of the jokes are really great and some or so-so but as a Star Wars fan I was pleased.

It's not everyday you see Darth Vader doing fatherly things, but this adorably charming illustrated picture-book is something special, I can tell you that. I HATE Star Wars, but even non-enthusiasts will get a kick out of seeing such a infamous pop culture icon(who's also known as the Dark Lord and has an impressive array of evil armies) just do average day-to-day things with his young son Luke. It's also hugely witty and even adults can chuckle at the many drawings Jeffrey Brown illustrates.

This book and its other volumes are so stinkin' cute. I mean giggle to yourself adorable.
The panel of Darth Vader and child Luke in the toy store with Vader saying "These are not the toys you are looking for."...bahahahaha!
(and I'm not even particularly a fan of Star Wars.)

I really enjoyed this children's book. As a parent, it is a lot of fun to watch Vader be a parent. Very clever!

It's cute. Totally inoffensive. Just not my cup of tea.
