I first read The Jewel a couple of years ago, and I became obsessed with the trilogy. I believe this was my third time rereading the first book, and I forgot how easy it was to get attached to the story and characters. Although not the most high stakes dystopian (yet), this book laid the foundation for what was to come with Violet and the other characters that get introduced, and I'm excited to continue my reread of the series.
