This story has a nickname in English -- The Korean Charlotte's Web. I think it is a good to make parallels between the stories. Both involve a sense of longing to belong, love, loss, an adopted family, and self sacrifice. I teared up at the end, for sure. This edition has beautiful minimalistic illustrations at the start of each chapter.

A beautiful little fable about following your dreams, courage and motherhood. Loved it!

This was not only as cute as expected, it was surprisingly touching. A poor lonesome hen who just dreams of her own chick living within a farm where each animal has its designated place - except for her, the outcast. This is something to show your kids, but especially to read on your own. What a beautiful gem.

I stumbled upon this book while exploring through the library. I didn't except much, maybe fun and worthwhile read on my day off but it was such an excellent piece of a book.

I never thought I would relate to a hen who's narrating the story but at times I was crying my eyes out in public library. Such a profound way to touch on topics about finding your place in this vast world. The love one can have for another. An allegory of life itself.

Sun-mi Hwang writes beautifully, simple yet very touching. Would definitely read more of her works.
