Frank Miller is able to bring back one of fictions most iconic characters to his roots after a rough patch in the 60’s and 70’s in a beautifully crafted story with great art. I would recommend this to people who are into dystopian novels even if you aren’t very familiar with comics.

Found the multiple storylines confusing to follow, since there would be a panel or two or three randomly placed within a different storyline. Same with the (apparently) random Superman averting world war three storyline.

This is a Batman comic from the 1980s, so keep that in mind as reading. Politics and political ineptness is a running trope. Bruce's parents and his first (terrifying) encounter with the batcave comes up several times. There is other genre-typical violence throughout.
