There were some poems that I really enjoyed reading, there is something comforting within the depressing poems.Ā  There were a few that I didnā€™t care for but the poems seemed blunt and to the point.

ā€œi am the first woman in my lineage with freedom of choice. to craft her future whichever way i choose. say what is on my mind when i want to. without the whip of the lash. there are hundreds of firsts i am thankful for. that my mother and her mother and her mother did not have the privilege of feeling. what an honorā€

I felt so seen from Rupiā€™s collection to her mother.Ā

The book as a whole had lots of honest & relatable lines from a broken soul to true love to family to finding self confidence. Let the sunshine on your flowers šŸŒ»Ā

the only thing I donā€™t like from modern poetry or at least this author is when one sentence that isnā€™t that profound takes up a whole page ā€œthe road to changing the world is never-endingā€ doesnā€™t need an entire blank page. Some of the pages didnā€™t even have a cute drawing to makeup for the lack of content šŸ˜•
