The first 100 pages bored me, but i stuck with it because I was reading it for my book club. Then a major plot twist enraged me! Wish it got interesting sooner, and in general the book is kind of cheesy. Because of my line of work I got pretty pissed off that someone dies in the book and the person who was closest to her is not allowed to grieve on his own terms. It's really the only reason I cared about the book at all.

This book was told entirely in the dog's voice. I desperately wanted to know what was going to happen, I was so worried. Although it was told by the dog, it was his owner that I worried about. It made me want to go home and hug my dogs.

I absolutely adored this book. Picked it up when another customer at Target recommended it while we were both standing in the book aisle. I couldn't put it down. I applaud the author for writing from the perspective of a dog which is so unique. He did it very well. The book was well written, filled with lots of emotion, and told a great story. The ending was a masterpiece. It was perfect.

Written from a dog's perspective this had the potential to be dreadful but Stein turns it into a compelling narrative. The story is a mix of anthropomorphism, pop psychology & motor sports techno-talk and, despite my reservations about all three subjects, I found myself engrossed in this curious tale.

I LOVED this book and I wanted this dog! This was such a great story and because it was told from the dog's perspective, it made the book really enjoyable!
