This book was very twee, and had a character driven story. There’s a lot underneath the surface of the book, and an unsettling feeling permeates the book providing a steady pace to a thrilling finish.
Graphic: Torture, Emotional abuse, Death, Gaslighting, Gore, Mental illness, Murder, Stalking, Violence, Sexual violence, Child death, Blood, and Car accident
Minor: Alcohol and Eating disorder

Probably would give a 3.5. I suspected the killer halfway through the book but everything tying together in the end was amazing.

Alice and Leo move into a house in a high-security, fairly exclusive neighbourhood where everyone pretty much knows everyone else's business.
This book kept me intrigued and kept me turning the pages. It freaked me out at exactly the right points and it's fair to say I couldn't read it at night because it was creepy.
As the book went on, I can't really say that I liked the main character more than I did at the start of the book - a lot of her decisions didn't really make sense, but hey ho.
Even though the book hooked me to start with, I found the ending fairly cliché and kind of saw it coming. If it had a better, more unique ending I think I would have been a lot more satisfied with this read.
It's definitely a good book and I would absolutely recommend it if you're in the mood for something of a psychological thriller, but the endings are always very important to me and this one just wasn't my favourite.
