Abandoned on page 100. Life's too short to read books you aren't interested in and this book was too saccharine for me. I think it would be fabulous for people that love animals more than people.

Only thing that could have improved this book would have been an animal rights vegan message but I don't think the author is even a vegetarian.

The follow-up to Unlikely Friendships is much more detailed and focuses more on the psychological theories behind why these animals come together, providing less of an "adorable tale" and slightly more of a zoology and animal psychology study. Stories like these are proof that animals have feelings, especially those we slaughter to meat and sport, that they may attach as more than simple imprinting.

I had tears in my eyes for most of these stories! They are so heart warming and really showcase the depth of emotional intelligence in animals.
