The best Sherlock Holmes novel full of suspense and an intriguing plot definitely worth the read

This book really shows you how much the first two Sherlock novels... aren't really mysteries. Like this is a mystery with a creepy setting and a cast of suspects who all couldve done the dirty deed and the reader is able to follow along and make their own conclusions before Holmes comes in and ties everything up with a bow. I know that all sounds par for the course, but the first two novels dont have that, which made this one all the better

I've read this Sherlock Holmes Mystery many times and it remains one of my absolute favourites. You really can't beat a classic murder mystery with Holmes and Dr Watson.
One of the benefits of the series is that you are constantly kept on your toes, and even when you have read it before, the writing keeps you tense and expectant.
As usual, a wonderful read for a weekend treat.

iconic, showstopping, fabulous. so so so so much better than hallucinatory drug makes you believe there's big dog because some program is named hound. i fully get why this is such a popular sh story. as always with sherlock holmes, watch the content/trigger warnings, but if you're able to stomach them all, such a fun read.

I don't know if I just wasn't in the right mood for this or what, but I was kind of unimpressed. The last chapter explaining everything felt especially clumsy. It's not a great reveal if it has to be explained so much. But it's still a classic.
