Great and visual guide to Japan. This had a more specific view to Japan through manga and games which I enjoyed. An easy and approachable read.

Great for anxious weirdos like me who like to know about what's expected culturally. Some americanisms (getting excited over electric kettle) but otherwise pretty thorough.

I am really surprised by how useful this book is. It’s a graphic novel (which I wasn’t expecting) and it’s drawn in a cute quasi-manga-style. Densen teaches American tourists helpful Japanese phrases, foods to try, places to see, restroom etiquette--everything you need to know is in this book! It’s a nice simple introduction to the culture and how to be a good tourist in Japan. And the storytelling and artwork is very kawaii!

This is the first book I’ve read in preparation for an upcoming trip. Now that I’ve had this first little initiation into Japanese tourism, I feel that I can delve a little deeper into the culture. I think I may revisit this book shortly before my trip though and take better notes of the author’s suggestions.
