Disjointed

First points off for yet another clichéd blonde heroine. Seriously it's like for every 1 heroine description that not blonde there are 25 or 30 blondes. It's ridiculous and surpassed over used decades ago. I could go on and I kind of want to but I don't want to devote that much time to a review.

The scenes provided are great, but the problem is they don't flow well together it's so whiplash it's as if you're missing massive portions of the book. Like first they're barely able to talk and suddenly they're getting naked with no convincing build to the sudden change. She's upset about an even with him and even though we haven't seen first hand any of the conflict with her family she's suddenly screaming at her father in a bar. The scenes don't flow or entirely make sense together.

Eden has a real talent for creating a vibrant scene however Trick Play needs a lot more work in logically connecting those scenes together.

This was super cute and such a quick read. I like how this is the introduction to this series. Really glad Lainey and Alex got their happy ending.

You know what?

Veronica Eden writes impeccable book boyfriends.

Alex Keller and Lainey Boucher know each other - he's best friends with her brother - but run in different circles. One day, Alex sees Lainey across the quad, and tries to save her from the football player picking on her.

She's quiet and reserved, but that's no match for Alex's solid golden retriever energy. He decides that they should fake-date to keep the obnoxious football player off her back for a while. What Lainey doesn't know when she agrees to Alex's proposal is that he's lying about the fake, and is in it for real.

Alex is a giant sweetheart!! Seriously, so many
