Do you ever have that feeling after eating where you know you’re full but you still want more? That’s what this book is like. Jacqueline Woodson’s sentences are so exquisite, and her characters so poignant that all I want is more, more, more.

4.5/5 such a good story but the writing takes the cake for me! I've never been been so intrigued by someone's writing.

This was good! At first I was so confused because we would switch POVs so often. Once I kind of realized what was going on, I enjoyed it. The audiobook was fantastic. This did make me emotional just to think about family and family history and how time moves. I really did not like a certain character, which made this a lower rating.

this book was tedious to read. a bit depressing, a bit realistic, not really my favorite sort of book. i had a hard time connecting with the characters. gorgeous writing though!
