Eh, not for me. Found it tedious and boring. I struggled to finish it.

2.5 stars. LOOK I’m a real life Chicken Annie’s fan...our family has been forever. I used to eat the little pats of butter straight of the plate, so it’s safe to say that I had high hopes for this one. But this book just doesn’t do it for me. I feel misled(it’s not funny!). I read the same paragraphs of charcters’ inner conflicts over and over and over. There are too many characters that don’t have enough depth—I couldn’t remember who was who even by the end of it! The resolution was satisfying so that’s really it’s saving grace.

Two sisters from a small town in Kansas find themselves against each other in a reality TV food competition. Mae fled their small town as quickly as she could while Amanda stayed on in the family business. When they are brought together again through competition old rivalries are brought to the surface.

I saw the ending a mile away but it was fun and I liked the characters and their growth.

I wanted to love this book. I loved the premise and the initial character development. I was excited to see where it would go. In the end it took too long to get me emotionally invested. While I understand the ending was meant to bring everyone together, I'm not sure the rifts could be healed so quickly.
