This was alright. I'm glad to have had the opportunity to follow up on Danny Torrance, though nothing will ever compare to The Shining, which I think actually had a satisfying ending. I was kinda sad to have had Wendy Torrance and Dick Hallorann glossed over as characters in this one, but I guess that's fine, the book was supposed to be about Dan, and toward the end
more about Abra I suppose. I'd for sure read a third book if it was more about Abra. I think Stephen does a good job touching on how the psychic abilities of teen girls affect them on a daily and psychological level but it leaves me wanting more depth.

I think the antagonists (the True Knot - or Naught, I listened to this so not sure about spelling) were kinda cartoonishly evil and too easily defeated. But that's fine with me, I'm usually more interested in character than action anyway.

Tons of content warnings in this one, some I may have forgotten to tag, but it's a King novel so...if you're sensitive tread carefully.

As much as I loved The Shining I could not stand this book. An unnecessary and poorly executed sequel riddled with problematic representations of women, LGBTQIA+ individuals, and SA survivors.
