Please note; my star rating on any book is completely subjective and limited to the label for each star.

1 Star I didn’t like it
2 Stars It was okay
3 Stars I liked it
4 Stars I really liked it
5 Stars It was amazing!

If I do actually have something to say about a book other than what my enjoyment factor was, I will write a review and share my thoughts. If I say I didn’t like a book but there wasn’t anything about it that I thought needed to be shared, then that’s it, I just didn’t like it.

If you’d like to start a discussion about a book or you’d like an actual review, ask any question you like and I’ll be happy to try and comply/respond.

Additional note; I do not feed the trolls. If you don’t have something constructive to say, or if you can’t say it in a respectful way, you won’t get a response from me. Ever.

Much better than Sabriel in my opinion. The character's as a whole were better and the world worked better because all the background stuff had been done in Sabriel and the new bits weren't overly tedious. The plot was better as well in my opinion though that cliffhanger was a bit too tense for. Enjoyed it but still not the best in the world.

3.5 Stars. Good second part to the story...the end is a bit of a cliffhanger.

This was such a great read, even though it's only set up for, what I know will be, a killer next book. I think Lireal is so badass, so intriguing, so awesome, and I'm so excited for her to kick some dead ass. I love the Disreputable Dog, the return of Mogget and the prince was alright.

However, there was no need for this book to be so long. I know this is my dislike for overly long books, but seriously, it could have been just as good a whole lot shorter.

An interim book. 19 years after the first, Sabriel and Touchstone are now King and Abhorsen of the Old Kingdom, working hard to ensure peace and security all over the country. However, unbeknownst to them, a secret plan sends them across the Wall in distraction while an old, old evil plots to rise again. It was up to Lirael
Spoilerborn of the Clayr and Abhorsen, whose combined powers made her a Remembrancer who can see into the past
and Prince Sameth
Spoilerwhose specialty was to be a Maker & infuse spells/power into objects
to save the day.

This is a story about how two kids overcame personal limitations to become what they needed to be. Lirael spent all her life dreaming of acquiring the power of Sight. Her lack thereof made her felt like an outsider amid a family of hundreds, such that she avoided talking to people and hid in the depth of the Library, secretly acquiring more knowledge of Charter magic. Her constant moaning on the matter was becoming rather annoying, therefore the rapidity with which she adjusted to her new role was surprising, maybe unrealistic but I welcomed it. Prince Sameth was terrified of Death, hated his role as Abhorsen-in-Waiting and complained about the unfairness of being forced into that role. He found courage literally within 3 pages of the last chapter.

Highlight of this novel is the Disreputable Dog and Moggett, adding welcome doses of fun & background knowledge.
